Discussions from the Mockingjay, Part 2
The Complexity of Individuals: Each person is a tapestry of emotions, histories, and aspirations.
Let’s look at my second point, people are complex, from my post on 18 December where we started discussing this quote from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - “People don’t always show up the way you want them to.”
People are not one-dimensional and cannot be easily pigeonholed into predefined expectations. Collins' quote delves into the complexity of human beings. The failure to conform to expectations is not necessarily a flaw but a reflection of the intricate nature of humanity. Characters in "Mockingjay" demonstrate this complexity, revealing layers of vulnerability, strength, and resilience that defy simplistic expectations.
Each person, much like a tapestry, is woven from a diverse range of experiences, emotions, histories, and aspirations. The failure to conform to expectations is not a shortcoming but a testament to the rich and intricate nature of humanity. It highlights the inherent unpredictability of individuals and the impossibility of fully understanding or controlling the depth of their character.
