If you want to live a life of impact, you must start by building the right foundation for your specific type of impact. Do you want to stand through earthquakes, or are you trying to build a skyscraper? Do you want a vacation bungalow along the Amazon River or a condo in New York?
Any builder knows that before a structure can rise, a foundation must be laid. If it’s going to be the right one, the process takes time, planning, and hard work. Knowing what you’re building is just one step. The next one, is knowing what you are building upon. You must survey the land, conduct environmental studies, complete soil testing, and complete engineering and architectural design. Cutting corners in those early stages may not show immediately, but the weakness always become apparent when the foundations are tested…. weather by storm or differential settling or even drainage issues.
